I was recently approached by Brian Magida, a member of the Warby Parker marketing team, to feature Warby Parker on my blog. As a company named after two of American novelist and poet Jack Kerouac’s early characters, I immediately obliged. Kerouac’s work essentially represents the highest hopes I have for my blog – great writing paired with popular culture to create an enjoyable experience for my readers.
But Warby Parker is more than just the name of a company. They’ve managed to create stylish and affordable eyewear – prescription and protection. Here’s a peek into their Spring collection, highlighting the frames I’m loving!
“Warby Parker was founded with a rebellious spirit and a lofty objective: to create boutique-quality, classically crafted eyewear at a revolutionary price point.”
I LOVE tortoise-shell frames. LOVE. They’re so classic, and Warby Parker has absolutely nailed it with the modern twists they’ve given their frames this Spring. This Finch pair caught my eye – I love the violet tint in the frame! I can see myself rocking these through long mornings with a good book and a cup of coffee, long afternoons at my internship, and long nights of studying – perfect for the student and the professional in me.
How Jackie O. are these Quimby sunglasses? These vintage-esque shades, offered in a modern green hue, are perfect for Spring. When I picture myself wearing them, I’m reminded of the warm weather, feeling the green grass between my toes. The long, cold, and snowy winter upon us has forced me to forget those days, but these shades make me hopeful that maybe, just maybe, those days aren’t so far off after all.
Warby Parker frames give off a sophisticated vibe while being at a price point that fits within any budget. They’ve got the right idea when it comes to charitable givings, too – for every pair purchased, they donate a pair to someone in need.
While Warby Parker frames are available in select retail locations across the nation, they’ve found success in focusing on their web presence as the primary source of sales. By bypassing optical shops, Warby Parker keeps costs low, giving you the same amazing quality for a fraction of the price.
You may be thinking, “How am I supposed to know how the frames look on me before I buy if I purchase them online?” Enter my personal favorite features of the Warby Parker brand: the “In Home Try-On” and “Virtual Try-On”. The In Home Try-On allows you to select 5 frames to be shipped to your home for free! That’s right – no catch. You have five days to try out the pairs you’ve selected, decide on your faves, and ship the try-on pairs back! Shipping is always free. My trial pairs are en route as we speak, and I can’t wait to take them for a spin.
If you’d prefer to order a pair right away rather than participating in the “In Home Try-On”, you can also utilize the “Virtual Try-On”. I haven’t had much luck with this feature, as I can’t seem to get the glasses adjusted correctly to have a realistic idea of what they would look like on me. However, it is a cool feature you may utilize if you don’t choose to go through the try-on process.
Warby Parker is a game-changer. You can get the quality styles you crave at a price you won’t find in optical shops while supporting an amazing cause. It’s time you get yourself some stylish frames, and give the gift of sight while you’re at it.
